Macon Pops’ 5th Season Opens With Energetic Jazz, Rock Concert

Macon, GA – Macon Pops returns for its Fifth Season with an exceptional concert: Jazz That Rocks! The Music of Chicago, Blood, Sweat & Tears and Steely Dan. Featuring guest singer, Michelle Amato from Orlando, FL, the concert will be held Saturday, August 26th at 8 p.m, on the Wellness Center lawn at Middle Georgia State University.

Attendees can bring their coolers, drinks of any kind, picnic baskets and blankets. If rain chances are high, the concert will be moved inside the Wellness Center (which is the building adjacent to the lawn).

Macon Pops is recognized as a family-friendly exhilarating musical concert that has grown in popularity in Middle Georgia and beyond. The excitement is continuing into the fifth season.

“We think this concert is a great way to open our season and many people are looking forward to it,” says Steve Moretti, co-founder of Macon Pops. “We are happy to make Middle Georgia State University’s Wellness center our annual season opener.”

The Fifth Season will also include November 17’s ‘The Beatles: Rubber Soul & Revolver and March 16, 2018’s ‘Latin Pop Revolution.’

“Like all Macon Pops shows, we expect our fans to be up on the dance floor, enjoying this concert as much as they enjoy all our other events,” says Matt Catingub, co-founder of Macon Pops. “We always encourage folks to come as they are, eat, drink, and dance the night away.”

Macon Pops’ is also launching a musical initiative called ‘For the Love.’ A portion of the proceeds from the upcoming ‘Jazz That Rocks’ concert will be donated to the Academy for Classical Education (ACE), a school located in Macon. “We are invested in the community and wanted to find a way to give back,” says Moretti.
