The 2017 Cherry Blossom Festival Street Party Gets Funky

Friday, 100.9 The Creek announced on it’s morning show that the Cherry Blossom Festival Street Party would be headlined by funk legend George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic. Clinton was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 1997 and has been releasing music for over 50 years. His hits include “Atomic Dog,” “Loopzilla,” “Why Should I Dog You Out,” “Martial Law,” “If Anybody Gets Funked Up (It’s Gonna Be You),” and “Do Fries Go With That Shake?” Also playing at The Street Party will be Mavis Staples, Chuck Leavell with The Randall Bramblett Band, JD McPherson and Me & Molly. The Cherry Blossom Street Party will take place on Saturday, April 1 at 3 PM at Rosa Parks Square located at Cotton Avenue and Poplar Street. Tickets for The Street Party are $20 in advance, or $25 the day of the event and can be purchased online at www.cherryblossom.com or in person at The Rookery or El Camino.
